ACRYLIC Facade 1.5, 2.0 mm ORMAL ACRYLIC
1. Description, use
ACRYLIC FACADES 1.5, 2.0 mm are thin-layer noble facades made on the basis of polymer binders with a characteristic evenly grained surface, intended for decorative protection of facade wall surfaces. They are characterized by good adhesion to all types of finely rough construction substrates: to base plasters of facade thermal insulation systems, to classic fine lime-cement and cement facades, to smooth concrete surfaces, and even to fiber-cement and gypsum-cardboard panels, chipboard panels, etc.
In addition to high strength, they are also characterized by high water repellency. Due to the relatively high vapor permeability atypical for acrylic facades, they can also be installed as a final layer on contact facade thermal insulation systems based on mineral wool. Good resistance to smoke gases, UV rays and other atmospheric agents ensures their durability in any climatic conditions, even on the facade surfaces of tall buildings heavily exposed to precipitation and with minimal overhangs. The treated surfaces are guaranteed to be long-term resistant to wall algae and mold, so adding biocidal ingredients before installation is not necessary.
2. Packaging method 25 kg plastic buckets – Substrate preparation
The substrate must be finely rough, firm, dry and clean, without weakly bonded parts, dust, salt, grease stains and other impurities. Minor irregularities – protrusions and depressions – make it difficult to smooth the installed facade, so we should pay as much attention to the preparation of the substrate as possible.
4. Preparation of the facade mixture
Before use, mix well with a hand-held electric mixer, and if necessary (only exceptionally) dilute it with water (up to a maximum of 1%). Any “correction” of the facade mixture during installation (adding tinting agents, thinning, etc.) is not allowed.
The facade mixture is applied manually – with a stainless steel trowel – or mechanically, by spraying, in a thickness slightly larger than the diameter of the thickest sand grain. When applying by spraying, follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the machinery. Immediately after application, smooth the facade surface with circular strokes with a hard, smooth plastic trowel. Smooth in circular strokes until we achieve an evenly granular structure. When smoothing, the grains in the applied mortar layer are moved very slightly, pushing the mortar mixture in front of the trowel (in the form of a wave) is not allowed. The formation of such a wave can most often be attributed to too great a thickness of the application or a poorly prepared, or insufficiently flat, surface. The lumps of mortar protruding from the surface of the facade are pressed into it at the end – a few minutes after smoothing – by lightly smoothing the surface with a clean stainless steel trowel. We carry out the work as quickly as possible – without interruption – from one end edge of the wall to the other. On wall surfaces that extend over several floors, the facade is installed simultaneously on all floors: in this case, we always start applying the facade on the upper floor, and on the lower floors we work with a “stepped distance”. We divide larger wall surfaces into smaller ones with grooves of the appropriate width, mortar borders and other decorations, frames or in some other way, thus avoiding problems that arise during continuous installation of the facade, and an unaesthetic appearance due to an insufficiently flat surface. The joints of surfaces in corners and on edge parts are facilitated by the implementation of finely processed belts a few cm wide, which give the processed surfaces a pleasant aesthetic appearance. Decorative smoothed belts, grooves, mortar borders, frames, etc. are usually made before the installation of the decorative facade. We protect them with appropriate wall paints and make sure that the coating we use to treat them is not applied uncontrolledly over their edges to the surfaces prepared for the installation of the decorative facade. We install the mortar mixture only in appropriate weather and microclimate conditions: the temperature of the air and wall surface must not be lower than +5 ºC and higher than +35 ºC, and the relative humidity must not exceed 80%. We protect the facade surfaces with curtains from the sun, wind and precipitation, and the facade, regardless of such protection, is not applied in rain, fog or strong wind (≥30 km/h).
5. Protection during work
Waste handling, cleaning tools Eye protection with safety glasses or a face shield is only required when applying the mortar mixture by spraying; in all other situations, the use of special personal protective equipment or special conditions for safe work is not required. In addition to the general instructions and regulations for occupational safety for construction, facade and painting work, and the information in the safety data sheet, observe the following warnings:
6. Storage, transport conditions and durability
Storage and transport at a temperature of +5 °C to +25 °C, protected from direct sunlight, MUST NOT FREEZE! Durability when stored in the original closed and undamaged packaging: at least 12 months.
