  • REFRACTORY CONCRETES
Refractory concretes are thermally untreated composite materials with a refractoriness of 1000°C and above.
They consist of refractory filler, binder as additives.
  • Refractory concretes
harden at normal or elevated temperature and have limited shrinkage properties
    at the application temperature.
The basic requirement for refractory concretes is volume stability.
  • The most dangerous
property of concrete that can lead to collapse is shrinkage. Another requirement for refractory concrete is its strength, which changes depending on temperature in the following way:
    – When hardening occurs at relatively low temperatures, for example up to 300°C, the strength increases
    – In the range of 300°C – 1000°C, which is basically related to the dehydration of the binder, with the loss of chemically bound water, the polymer – condensation structure of the concrete is destroyed, and thus the strength of the concrete decreases
    – At temperatures above 1000°C, sintering occurs, thus the strength of the concrete increases

Refractory concrete ORBET-10

Composition: Refractory aggregate and refractory cement

Purpose: Production and repair of refractory linings of all types of thermal aggregates in industry for temperatures up to 1700°C.

Preparation: Mixing and wetting is carried out in a clean mixer or on a concrete base. The addition of water depends on the method of installation and ranges from 8-12%

Installation: Concrete mixed with water is poured into a formwork (template) coated with a protective coating. Compaction is carried out by vibration or manual tamping.

Curing: Under normal conditions, concrete sets in 15-20 minutes and hardens in 24 hours. It is recommended to cool the lining by wetting it with water in the first 24 hours.

Timing: Drying of the thermoconcrete lining is carried out for 2-3 days at 150°C. Above 50°C, the temperature rises at a rate of 15°C/h, and above 650°C by 50°C/h.

Packaging: PE or natron bags of 25 kg each.

Durability: 12 months
