General

With the development of industry, there has been a need for increased durability of industrial floors. They often have to meet the following requirements:

  • Resistance to mechanical influences, which are mainly static and dynamic,
    load, impacts, etc.
  • Resistance to chemical influences caused by various agents such as: water, petroleum derivatives,
    acids, alkali bases.
  • Anti-slip and the possibility of easy maintenance.
  • Simple and inexpensive repairs

Therefore, the correct choice of the type of floor, or the wear layer, is necessary, which will result in its greater durability.

The company ORVIS Zenica has been producing mineral sprinkle for surface refinement of industrial floors for a long time, the brand ORBET fer.

ORBET fer is used on all external and internal surfaces, where there is extremely frequent traffic of people and vehicles (pallet trucks, forklifts, cars, trucks) and workshops where the floor is exposed to water and alkaline cleaning agents, oil, gasoline and other organic solvents.

Technical characteristics

  • Compressive strength –  MPa min65
  • Bending strength –  Mpa min12
  • Abrasion resistance –  12cm3/50cm2
Ferbeton ORBET fer is certified at the Metallurgical Institute Dr Kemal Kapetanović in Zenica
Ferbeton ORBET fer is made in 3 basic shades: gray, green and red.
Other shades are made by agreement.

Purpose

Orbet fer is intended for the production of moderately loaded internal and external surfaces. Due to the possibility of choosing a color, it also has an aesthetic value. We recommend use in:

  • – garages and parking lots
  • – trading houses
  • – gas stations
  • – warehouses
  • – textile industry
  • – school corridors and workshops
  • – on sidewalks and ramps
  • – mechanical workshops for cars and trucks.

Properties

Ferbeton consists of a mixture of Portland cement, quartz, additives and oxide colors. Concrete surfaces treated with ORBET fer are:

  • – resistant to mechanical impacts and wear
  • – waterproof and resistant to atmospheric agents (frost)
  • – non-combustible and non-corrosive
  • – dustproof
  • – high wear resistance
  • – resistant to petroleum products and machine oil
  • – resistant to sea water and detergents
  • – anti-slip

Installation

Orbet fer is sprinkled on a fresh concrete base made of building concrete brand MB-30 in the amount of 4 and 5 kg/m2 depending on the load of the future floor on two occasions.
During bonding with a trowel machine (helicopter), we drive (pave) the ferrebeton into the base substrate. Before concreting the concrete base, we place the metal bases which we level to the required plane and determine the slopes, lay the reinforcing mesh and, if requested by the customer, PVC foil. Dilate all joints on walls, pillars or foundations with styrofoam strips.

Floor care

The finished concrete surface must be protected from rapid drying. The floor is covered with PE foil or moistened felt. Impregnating agents can also be used to care for fresh concrete. For this purpose, a protective coating (FERBET PRIMER) is used, which is applied with a regular fruit sprayer, roller or mop.
In winter conditions, it is mandatory to cover the concrete with PE foil to prevent the surface layer from freezing.
